Farm Update Wednesday April 8
By Ida Assefa
Earth is here so kind, that just tickle her with a hoe and she laughs with a harvest.
In a lovely change of pace, yesterday’s workday was spent harvesting produce for friends of the farm. After harvesting spinach, pea shoots, and mizuna in the north greenhouse, Eliza helped to finish a bed of baby arugula. Rewan, Ray, and Diana then joined us to wash, spin, and bag all of the salad mix, which looked and will certainly taste delicious. We finished the afternoon by picking a bed of D’Avignon radishes which are also happily growing in the greenhouse. If you haven’t made it to the garden in a while, be sure to come soon to see the amazing greens growing in the hoophouse. It’s an incredible jungle of arugula, chard, spinach, peas, and more. Also, we’ll be having a big tilling and spring planting day in the next few weeks, as well as our regular workdays and Friday pizza parties, so we hope to see you soon!
